After upgrading VMware View from 4.6 to 5.0 desktop pools fails with the error message: Diskfault: Selected parent VM is not accessible |
Problem
We have observed this happening in environments where we're using VMware Composer with linked clones. It will prevent new VMs from being provisioned. If we look in the log files we will find messaged like these: File [DataStoreName] VMName/sdd was not found Provisioning error occurred for Machine VMName: Cloning failed for Machine Error during provisioning: View Composer DiskFault: Disk Management Service is not available Solution After upgrading VMware View Composer at the vCenter Server you were not prompted to reboot the server and the upgraded Composer service would start working immediately after the upgrade was done. It seems that a reboot is still needed as it fixes this issue.
